We know transparency matters. Here are answers to the most common questions from our supporters about how donations are used, how impact is measured, and how you can make the greatest difference with your gift. 

Every contribution directly supports advocacy, education, and policy initiatives that protect pollinators and restore ecosystems. Funds are allocated to campaigns, policy briefs, coalition-building, and capacity to expand our reach. 


Project Melissa is in the process of seeking 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. At this time, donations are not tax-deductible. Your support directly fuels our advocacy, education, and policy work, and we are grateful for your investment in protecting pollinators and ecosystems. 


 Your support helps us launch campaigns, influence policy, and expand pollinator-friendly land use. For example, donations help fund educational workshops, produce media campaigns, and advance legislative engagement.


Yes. We are committed to transparency. Annual reports highlight our financial stewardship, campaign outcomes, policy wins, and partnerships formed. Donors can see exactly how their support creates measurable change. 


Yes. Monthly giving helps provide steady resources for long-term advocacy and policy initiatives. Recurring donors are vital in sustaining consistent impact. 


 Absolutely. We work with foundations, corporate partners, and philanthropic donors to align resources with our mission. We also pursue competitive grants to expand impact. 


We track outcomes such as campaigns launched, people engaged, partnerships formed, funds leveraged, and policy initiatives advanced. Donor funds are reported against these outcomes to ensure accountability. 


 Yes. Donations can be made in honor or memory of someone. We’ll provide recognition and acknowledgment per your preference. 


 You can add your voice as an advocate, share our campaigns, host pollinator-friendly events, or introduce us to potential partners. Support comes in many forms, financial, community, and policy engagement.

Donor Impact Levels

 $50 → Provides outreach materials for a community awareness campaign.
$250 → Supports the creation of one policy brief to influence lawmakers.
$500 → Funds a public workshop to educate communities about pollinator-friendly land use.
$1,000 → Helps mobilize advocacy efforts by joining coalitions and amplifying campaigns.
$5,000 → Backs a full-scale advocacy campaign, engaging thousands of people and shaping policy change.


Donation Disclaimer

 Project Melissa is currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. At this time, contributions are not tax-deductible. Your support directly funds our advocacy, education, and policy initiatives to protect pollinators and restore ecosystems. Once our nonprofit status is approved, we will update donors regarding the potential for future tax-deductible contributions.
